How about making fruit lollies at home to tempt your taste buds and keep the summer heat at bay? Here are four mouthwatering lollies to entice the little ones and grownups as well.

Mango Lollies

Healthy and succulent, the sinful mango lollies would leave you craving for more.

  1. Take half litre full fat milk, add cardamom (elaichi) powder and sugar/honey as per taste.
  2. Let the milk simmer on gas till it reduces to half. Allow the milk to cool at room temperature.
  3. Meanwhile, take about 3 – 4 ripe mangoes and squeeze their pulp out. Blend the pulp in a mixer, ensuring that there are no lumps left.
  4. When the milk has cooled down completely, add the blended mango pulp to it. Mix thoroughly with a beater.
  5. Pour the mixture in ice lolly moulds. Sprinkle crushed dry fruits powder on the top and put the moulds in the freezer for about 4-5 hours.

Your mango lollies are ready to devour!

Tip: Instead of mangoes, you can take bananas too.

Watermelon Lollies

Watermelons taste the best when eaten in their natural form. But give an icy twist to their flavour by making lollies.

  1. Take a few chunks of seedless watermelon and add sugar.
  2. Blend well in a mixer till you will get a slush kind of consistency.
  3. Add a few drops of lemon juice to it.
  4. Pour the mixture in ice lolly moulds and freeze them for a few hours.
  5. Viola, your watermelon lollies are ready!

Tip: You can avoid lemon juice if you wish.

Orange Lollies

Fresh oranges are not available in the summer. So, we use 100% fresh orange juice available in the market. I usually use Tropicana and Real Active.

  1. Pour the juice straight out of the container into ice lolly moulds.
  2. Allow to freeze for a few hours.

Can you get a quicker and no-fuss recipe than this?

Tip 1: You can make lollies using any other flavour that is usually preferred at your home.

Tip 2: Also do try making them with roohafza, khas khas sharbat and aam ka panna.

Multiple Flavoured Lollies

You can make colourful, two/three flavoured lollies using different fruits and other combinations.

1. Firstly, fill the mould up to half with one flavour and let it freeze for about 20-25 minutes.

2. Take the moulds out and pour the second flavour in the remaining half space.

3. Freeze again.

Tip: While filling the moulds, add tiny pieces of fresh fruits or tutti frutti. They will lend a subtle chunky taste to the lollies.

In case you don’t have ice lolly moulds, you can use regular ice cube trays or plastic cups also. Half an hour after freezing the lollies, take the tray/cups out and insert ice cream sticks/toothpicks in them. Freeze again.
