Here is a quick recipe which is liked by kids and adults alike. It can be given to kids as a substitute of pizza and you can keep it healthy by adjusting the amount of vegetables and fats as per your liking.

Paneer Pull-apart Rolls

Nowadays, eating pizzas and it's variants has become a habit for Most of us, especially kids. The flavor of bread, cheese and various stuffings fulfill our taste buds. Making one's favorite at home is satisfying as we can control all parameters like hygiene and quality.

For the Bread

  • 2 cups Whole Wheat Flour or Maida
  • 3/4 tsp Instant Yeast
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 3/4 cup Milk (Room Temperature)
  • 1/2 cup Water (Room Temperature)
  • 1 tbsp Butter (To brush)

For the Paneer Stuffing

  • 1 Green Bell Pepper
  • 1 cup Paneer Grated
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 2 Tomatoes
  • 2 Onions
  • 1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tbsp (heaped) Tomato Ketchup
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Oregano
  • 1/2 tsp Pizza Seasonings
  • 2 Cubes Cheese Grated


To make the Stuffing

  1. Chop the onions, tomatoes, and capsicum very finely.

  2. In a thick bottom pan heat 1 tablespoon oil. Keep the flame low.

  3. Add the onions, tomatoes, bell pepper and cover with a lid. Cook till all turn soft.

  4. Add the salt, red chilli powder, haldi, oregano and pizza seasoning. Then add the paneer.

  5. Cook for 5 more minutes. Cover and keep aside.

To make the bread

  1. Warm the milk (just a little above the room temperature) and add sugar and yeast to it. In about 5 minutes yeast will rise.

  2. Take the flour, yeast mixture, salt and oil in a bowl.

  3. Add water and knead for about 12 minutes till a soft dough is formed.

  4. Gather the dough in a ball. Keep the seam side down in a deep, oiled bowl.

  5. Cover and bowl and leave the dough for rising for about 2 hours till it doubles up.

  6. Gently punch it and make equal size balls.

  7. Roll like rotis but little bit rectangular in shape. Apply little ketchup layer and place about a tablespoon of stuffing.

  8. Spread it on one edge of the roti.

  9. Sprinkle a teaspoon of grated cheese. Now holding this edge where the stuffing is placed, start rolling towards the opposite edge. Roll it as tight as possible.

  10. Now, with a sharp knife cut into 1-inch pieces.

  11. Grease a round 7 inches cake tin and place these rolls with stuffing side open both on top and bottom.

  12. Arrange them side by side, touching each other. Similarly, make more such rolls and keep on placing in the tin.

  13. Keep for 30 minutes. The dough will again rise at this time.

  14. After 20 minutes, preheat the oven at 180 degrees for 10 minutes. Place the tin in the oven and brush lightly with melted butter.

  15. Bake for 10 minutes. Remove and sprinkle more grated cheese.

  16. Again bake for 2 minutes till the cheese melts. Remove from oven and de-mold in a serving plate, after 5 minutes.

  17. Serve hot.

You can chop the vegetables of your choice.

Roll the dough like pizza and spread the filling on to it.

Roll the base and cut in to equal size by a sharp knife. You can adjust the size of pieces as per your liking, but don’t make it too big.

Spread the cheese while putting in the oven. Adjust the amount of cheese as per your liking.
